Foundry boots

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Derbyshire based safety footwear manufacturer Rock Fall has launched two new styles for the foundry industry made to the EN ISO 20349:2010 standard. The Phoenix and Vulcan boots follow the usual Rock Fall design features that make them comfortable from the first wear and highly durable even in harsh environments.

These features include the FORCE10 Solid Nitrile Rubber outsole, which is resistant to 300°C and has an abrasion resistance 86% higher than the European Standard. It has also used Coats Industrial threads for stitching and leather that are flame and abrasion resistant. Rock Fall has even included an enhanced comfort Ortholite footbed, which is used by major sports brands in their running footwear.

The boots are already on trial with a number of the major UK foundry operators and Rock Fall are keen to expand on this to improve occupational health and safety in the UKs thriving heavy industries sector.

Rock Fall supply their range of 60+ styles built for industry via a network of 400+ local, national and international distributors. Core industries include: automotive, construction, coldstore, electronics, engineering, foundry, logistics, manufacturing, offshore, rail, security and utilities.
