Packaging firm receives safety accreditation

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Samuel Grant Packaging has been awarded accreditation from Alcumus SafeContractor for achieving excellence in health and safety in the workplace. The accreditation demonstrates that Samuel Grant Packaging’s engineers work to exceptionally high safety standards when working at customers’ sites.

Alcumus SafeContractor is a leading third party accreditation scheme which recognises extremely rigorous standards in health and safety management amongst contractors. It is used by thousands of organisations in the UK including SMEs and FTSE 100 companies. Employing over 100 people across four sites, Samuel Grant Packaging is principally involved in the strapping, wrapping and packaging sector. Samuel Grant Packaging’s most recent clients have included major players such as Bettys and Taylors of Harrogate.

The company’s application for SafeContractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business. SafeContractor accreditation will enhance the company’s ability to win new contracts, and its commitment to safety will be viewed positively by its insurers when the company liability policy is up for renewal.

Julia Allen, MD of Samuel Grant Packaging’s Sheffield Branch, said: “We are constantly striving for Health and Safety excellence – accreditations like this make all the effort worthwhile, as does the ongoing wellbeing of all our staff and contractors.”
