Modular access solution

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Steps and platforms are vital to working efficiently in a warehouse, production facility or workshop. However, new purchases of access solutions require extensive planning and long lead times before they can be delivered.

ZARGES has moved to a modular system for its production of customised solutions making them more flexible, quicker and more economical.

All elements are pre-fabricated and pre-assembled, therefore the need for special or customised parts is minimal. Due to the high degree of pre-assembly, only a few steps and tools are needed to put a product together on-site. This means that customers can immediately use the solution they have purchased.

In the industrial environment, access systems such as steps, mobile or fixed platforms, or work and maintenance platforms are needed for a wide range of tasks. If a business was to invest in an individual solution at every work station they would quickly find themselves spending a fortune. The mobile solutions based on the ZARGES modular concept are versatile and help to lower costs. This significantly increases flexibility in workplace design and managing tasks.

The modular system is also said to put an end to long wait times allowing delivery times to be reduced from a few weeks to as short as ten days.

"In order to deliver products to our customers quickly, in 2009 we became one of the first manufacturers in Europe to develop an online configurator," explained Markus Nowak, product manager at ZARGES. The experience that ZARGES gained in the past eight years has influenced the further development of the system.

Nowak continued: "Our customers are able to immediately view a 3D model of the products they want on a screen, make adjustments and check if their requirements are met. There is also the option of downloading a 3D model that can be directly incorporated into the customer's planning. In addition, our configurator lets customers view the price and order status, print out the offer and place the order conveniently at the click of a mouse."
