Engineered wood panel manufacturer,
Norbord Cowie, has reached the third
stage towards achieving the ‘Safety
Star Accreditation’.

Norbord’s ‘Safety Star’ programme
is based on OSHA’s (Occupational
Safety and Health Administration)
Voluntary Protection Programme
(VPP) and combines 23 of its own
safety expectations.

“All employees have to participate,
and it is gratifying that so early in the
year, we already have two sites at
Stage 3 of the programme,”
commented Steve Roebuck, director
of health, safety and environmental
affairs at Norbord.
