Weldability-SIF, the UK based onestop
welding consumable and
equipment supplier has published a
new 64 page A5 book entitled
‘Compressed Gases Safety
Handbook’ for personnel handling
and using compressed gases in
industrial environments.

It is important that operatives
using compressed gases understand
the properties of the gases and are
conversant with the relevant Codes of
Practice & Guidance Notes issued by
the BCGA (British Compressed
Gases Association). This book, which
is available
free of
charge,
covers in
detail the
properties of
the most
common
gases used in
industry, the
types of
regulators
used and
safety checks
required, and the importance of
using flashback arrestors, as well as
the handling and use of oxy-fuel
cylinders.
