Nederman is promoting the
benefits of using self-retracting
reels for the safe supply of air,
water, oil, grease, electrical
power or vacuum.

The HSE website identifies
slips and trips as the most
common workplace accidents
– floor contamination or
obstacles (such as trailing
leads) are amongst the key
causes. Self-retracting reels
greatly reduce these risks. It’s
a serious problem too, 95% of
major slips result in broken
bones and can lead to other
accidents like falls from
height, according to the HSE,
costing employers £512m in
2009 (and the NHS a further
£133m).

“Reels also reduce wear
and tear on hoses, cables and
equipment and can significantly
increase efficiency,”
said Mark Hodgens,
Nederman MD. “This means
there’s a return on investment
as well as risk reduction.”
Nederman manufactures a
complete range of selfretracting
hose and cable reels
including anti-corrosion,
stainless and EX approved
options. All products are
made to ISO9001 and
ISO14001 and are suitable for
a wide range of industrial
applications.
