Injured or sick employees unable to
raise the alarm themselves are being
offered potentally life-saving
protection by lone worker safety
expert, Peoplesafe. Technological
advances mean that the company’s
devices can integrate ‘man-down’
sensors which detect if a set falls, tilts
or remains still – indicating staff
have had an accident or lost
consciousness. These sensors alert
the monitoring centre which
pinpoints the worker’s location and
responds accordingly.

The ‘man-down’ feature is among
check, alert and tracking options
available on the Identicom, an
identity card holder, and on the
Sonim XP3 Sentinel phone,
designed for extreme environments.
