IOSH at The Health & Safety Event

Posted on Tuesday 4 April 2023

HAVE YOU wondered recently what the demands will be of OSH professionals in the future? What about how the profession can respond to the changing world we work in?

All this and more will be covered by IOSH in the Keynote Theatre at The Health & Safety Event in Birmingham later this month.

IOSH has collaborated with organisers to put on a two-day programme of presentations and panel discussions which get right to the heart of the matters impacting on the OSH profession now and in the future.

The first day, Tuesday 25 April, will open with Ruth Lake, IOSH’s director of strategic and commercial development, focusing on the Institution’s new strategy, Activate 2028, and how it aims to continue to drive towards a safer and healthier world of work.

This will be followed by a panel session exploring what the International Labour Organization’s adoption of a safe and healthy working environment as a fundamental principle and right at work means in practice before attention turns to social sustainability and the role OSH has to play in working towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

The following day will be opened by Nicole Rinaldi, IOSH’s director of professional services, who will explore how Activate 2028 will support members to become the best professionals they can be. Attention will then turn to key development areas for OSH professionals and how this can help them respond to changes in the world of work.

And we also have a stand theatre over the whole three days of the event, where delegates can find out information about key areas – IOSH’s Model of Safety, How Blueprint empowers CPD, Meet Future Leaders of the OSH profession and accelerating your career through volunteering.
