Long curing times due to low
temperatures and the release of
potentially contaminating odours can
make applying epoxy floor coatings to
create storage lines, pedestrian safe
routes and safety symbols in chiller
room costly and time consuming.

Greg Clark and his RapidShield
team at flooring contractor Quality
Marking Services (QMS) have been
helping a supermarket chain to
transform its approach to the process.

Once applied to a prepared, clean
floor, RapidShield is cured instantly
by a portable unit that emits UVlight,
turning the coating into a solid
film which creates a strong bond to
the substrate. A durable, chemicalresistant,
non-slip, gloss or matt
finish is produced and the floor can
be used again within minutes and it
can be applied and cures at low
temperatures.
