generating its own energy to help
run operations at Alfreton in
Derbyshire, with the installation of
solar energy panels.

The 210 Bosch photovoltaic solar
panels and 3 SMA solar inverters
were installed on the factory roof by
Nottingham energy company Life
Long Energy.

As a plastics manufacturer,
George Utz has always taken its
environmental responsibilities very
seriously and in 2010 was awarded
ISO 14001:2004 accreditation, in
recognition of its efforts to reduce its
impact on the environment.

The company also runs a
recycling facility where old product
is “chipped up” and the materials
re-used to produce new equipment.
