The Electrical Safety Council (ESC)
has developed a range of leaflets
providing impartial electrical safety
advice to homeowners, tenants and
landlords.

Up to 100 copies of the ‘Why do
earthing & bonding need to be
checked?’ leaflet are available free to
contractors for distribution to their
customers. It provides a clear and
impartial explanation as to why
additional work may be needed to
ensure the safety of their family and
home – even if the original job was
simply to add another socket.

The leaflet explains to
householders, why, if they are
having an alteration or addition
made to their electrical installation,
their electrician must check the
adequacy of the existing earthing
and bonding arrangements and, if
necessary, bring them up to
standard as an essential part of their
work.
