Hiring temporary staff?

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Many businesses working in hospitality and retail preparing and serving food, look to take on temporary staff during the festive season.

The Health and Safety Executive insists that temporary and agency workers have the same level of health and safety protection as permanent staff, with the employer ultimately responsible for providing a safe environment and not the third party arranger.

Britannia Safety and Training offers an in-house induction course (6 hour session) for up to 12 members of staff to cover: Health & Safety Awareness, COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health), Manual Handling, Food Safety, and Fire Safety.

The training will make all staff aware of their duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act and help toward a business showing due diligence.
