Collision avoidance system

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Cy.pag has designed an active collision avoidance system designed to protect the truck operator and pedestrians and reduce the risk of damage to products, trucks and racking.

Whenever a potential collision is detected, the system sends a visual and acoustic warning to the lift truck operator; the truck speed can then automatically slow down. The truck can even be brought to a complete standstill.

The Cy.pag SIS system consists of an ultrasonic sensor that can detect objects up to 4m behind the lift truck; lateral sensors will detect objects at up to 1.5m on either side of the truck.

The system’s display and central processing unit is compact and can be fitted easily into the cab of the lift truck.
