Safety standards recognised
Portakabin, the UK modular building manufacturer, has received independent accreditation from Safecontractor for its consistently high standards in health and safety, giving clients and contractors further reassurance of its track record for safe performance.
Under the Safecontractor scheme, Portakabin was extensively audited and its health and safety policies, procedures, documentation and track record were reviewed to demonstrate compliance.
Health and safety initiatives in place across the Portakabin Group include:
- An overall vision to have an accident and incident-free workplace
- An open door policy to health and safety, and near-miss reporting is actively encouraged
- Employees at every level are involved in writing procedures, including the production and site teams, to ensure the most effective systems are in place and that everyone is fully engaged
- Health and safety is promoted via bulletins and ongoing information campaigns to assist in creating behavioural safety awareness
- As part of its overall values-based performance culture, Portakabin is introducing safety champions and mentors to drive safe working practices across the business.
