12.5 million milestone

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Staff at Hertel, the multi-discipline construction and maintenance services company, have achieved the safety milestone of 12.5 million hours worked without a lost-time incident.

The landmark dates back to January 2012. Hertel provides a range of services including access solutions, scaffolding, insulation, corrosion protection, mechanical, civils and allied specialist services.

The majority of its 2,350 staff work in hazardous environments such as oil and gas refineries, chemical plants and nuclear facilities throughout the UK & Republic of Ireland where safe working practices are crucial.

Chris Abbey, Hertel UK and Ireland’s head of HSEQ, said: “Reaching 12.5m hours is a real team effort. The challenge going forward is how we build upon this success in our journey towards “Target Zero”.”
