Electronic Temperature Instruments has launched the TempTest 2 food thermometer incorporating an automatic 360° display which rotates in 90° increments.
This feature enables users to read the temperature in any position and ‘lock’ it if required. The TempTest 2 features an intelligent backlit LCD display and a digital display, with a read-out over the range of -49.9 to 299.9°C. It is said to offer a 0.1°C/°F resolution and an accuracy of ±0.4 °C (-49.9 to 200 °C).
The unit will auto-power off after 10 minutes and the case is waterproof IP67, incorporating a rubber seal which includes ‘Biomaster’ – an anti-bacterial growth additive. According to ETI it is ‘probably’ one of the fastest reading contact thermometers on the market today and the true temperature of a product can be measured in three seconds.
Low battery and open circuit indications are displayed where applicable and, powered by two AAA batteries, the minimum life expectancy is 5000 hours in normal use.
