Fire alarm contract
PEL Services, provider of commercial fire, security and communication systems, has been awarded the fire alarm installation contract for the Lister hospital, part of the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust.
Over the last four years, £150 million has been invested into the 620-bed district general hospital in Stevenage, which provides a full range of medical and surgical specialties.
As part of this investment and the Trust’s on-going maintenance programme, the Lister’s fire detection system is being upgraded by PEL Services throughout the Emergency Assessment Unit and a new system is being installed into the new Theatres and Endoscopy unit.
The new fire detection system consists of two sets of four loop panels with over 200 multi smoke detector heads and 53 call points. In addition, PEL is fitting 98 interfaces which are designed to shut down plant release controlled doors, control valves and other services.
