Safer fleet management

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Provider of wireless fork-truck management systems I.D. Systems will be exhibiting the next generation of its Vehicle Asset Communicator – the VAC4 – at The Health & Safety Event.

This versatile, easy-to-implement product offers a cellular communication option, which is said to remove the need for IT involvement and costly infrastructure hardware. The VAC4 also comes in a Wi-Fi version, which can be either locally or remotely hosted.

As well as providing the benefits of improved safety practices, greater fleet utilisation,  increased productivity and lower operating costs, the VAC4 is said to significantly reduce system deployment costs. It can be easily installed in as little as one hour per vehicle.

Other advantages of the new cellular system include the ability to track trucks that are in transit or being serviced at your service partner’s facility, through embedded GPS location tracking.

A further focus at the show will be on the ZoneSpeed product, which ensures appropriate speed and therefore safer operation in danger zones such as crossings, aisle exits, ramps and areas where pedestrians may be present.
