Safe evacuation
Spectrum Healthcare (UK) is exhibiting at Health & Safety Scotland for the second time.
Since the last show in 2013, the company has introduced some new products to its existing range. One such product is the Ski Slide Pad, an evacuation pad with a built in slide sheet, for ease of transfer from bed/floor onto the pad. According to Spectrum, this is especially useful for individuals who require greater assistance during the transfer process. Features include, seatbelt style webbing straps and metal buckles, foot pocket, foam padding and a hard base sliding board.
Another new edition is the EMS Bariatric EvacMat, which is designed with the sole purpose of assisting emergency services personnel in the safe evacuation of bariatric/large individuals, from any location in the event of an emergency and has been safety tested to 400kg (approx.63 Stones).
The EMS EvacMat has some new features, not included with the standard EvacMat, such as an inner sleeve which allows for the insertion of a back board, extra ladder handles and a fully replaceable base sliding board.
