New alarm thermometer

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Designed for accuracy and performance at an affordable price, the new ThermaQ hand held digital alarm thermometer from Electronic Temperature Instruments (ETI) is said to provide a range of enhanced features to meet the demands of both food production and industrial users.

According to ETI, the ThermaQ thermometer is simple to operate, durable and provides precise, stable, high accuracy readings even in harsh environments. The thermometer allows the user to simultaneously use two type K thermocouple probes whilst displaying both current temperatures and the maximum and minimum recorded temperatures. This allows the user to monitor, for example, both an item of food and the oven temperature at the same time or monitor the rise and fall of temperatures across refrigeration units.

Measuring temperature over the range of -99.9 to 299.9 °C with a 0.1 °C resolution or 300 to 1372 °C with a 1 °C resolution, the unit features a large LCD display with °C/°F, T1, T2, max/min, open circuit, low battery indication, programmable high/low audible alarm and a user selectable backlight.

The instrument is housed in an ABS case that includes ‘Biomaster’ additive which reduces bacterial growth. An integrated rubber seal is designed to ensure complete water resistance and to help reduce the possibility of damage in harsh environments.
