Remote service monitoring

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Flowplant has introduced a remote monitoring option across its entire range of high pressure drain jetters including van packs, trailer mounted and truck mounted models.

Remote service monitoring facilitates condition-based maintenance programmes that are proven to reduce lifetime service costs, minimise the possibility of breakdowns and improve machine utilisation.

In addition, the system provides a remote location tracker which shows whether the van pack is operating and where it is at any given time, useful for security and stolen vehicle recovery.

Remote condition monitoring is used to identify a significant change in a jetter’s condition or performance, which may be indicative of a fault and forms an essential element of predictive maintenance. The use of condition monitoring allows maintenance to be scheduled, or other measures to be undertaken that can prevent a failure and avoid its consequences. Conditions that could shorten normal jetter lifespan can, therefore, be addressed before they develop into a major failure.

The remote location tracking facility is based on GPS technology which can inform the jetter’s whereabouts at any given time, enabling it to be recovered quickly if stolen.

Flowplant’s remote service monitoring and location tracking option can be included as an add-on with any new drain jetter purchase or retrofitted to existing models.
