How robust is your lockout procedure?

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Most industries are aware of the need to isolate machinery during maintenance and cleaning but in many case the processes and procedures can be inconsistent or worse non-existent.

“We speak to many companies that know they need to lockout but haven’t got the knowledge or expertise to implement a robust program,” David Wheatcroft from Reece Safety Products explained. “With our support they quickly realise that implementing a structured program is not complicated and can be achieved with limited investment in time and money.”

Eric Newton from RJS Engineering said: “When we realised we needed to improve our lockout procedure I called Reece and met with David to discuss our detailed requirements. Whilst we already had a good idea of what we were looking to achieve we received excellent advice from Reece and they supported us throughout the design process. The end result is a lockout policy that we are now rolling out across all of our three plants.”

Reece can provide whatever support is required from a full consultancy service through to telephone advice from its team of experts.
