Anti-slip surface on show

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Thermedia, manufacturers of Thermapply, the non-slip surface application specifically designed to eliminate slips, trips and falls on outdoor steps and walkways, will be exhibiting at Health & Safety North.

They will be introducing their product, Thermapply, which has been developed in direct response to the health and safety issues arising from the general state of concrete, tarmac and chequer-plate surfaces in the UK, not to mention old stone and paving. Thermapply can be used in outdoor arenas, sports and leisure facilities, theme parks; in fact any other outdoor public or commercial space where there is a risk underfoot.

Jonathan Hamp, MD of Thermedia, said: “We are really looking forward to Health & Safety North, it will give us the opportunity to demonstrate our unique product to an audience that makes health and safety a priority. We developed Thermapply to create a safer user experience and we will show how the use of our product could significantly reduce the number of accidents and subsequent insurance claims that result.”

Thermedia believe more can be done to protect people from accidents resulting from worn or slippery surfaces. Thermapply has been developed specifically for stairs and walkways in high traffic areas and offers a tailored, ‘full-step’ anti-slip solution which has been SATRA certificated to withstand one million footfalls. Thermapply is also backed by a 10-year manufacturer’s guarantee and conforms to BS 7976-2.
