Getac, the global designer and manufacturer of rugged mobile technology, has expanded its partnership with Absolute Software Corporation (TSX: ABT), the industry standard for persistent endpoint security and data risk management solutions.

"We are pleased to be extending our relationship with Absolute and enhancing our security offering in Europe," said Chris Bye, president, Getac UK. "Today’s announcement underpins our commitment to delivering additional value to customers, particularly in the critical areas of durability and security."

Under the agreement, Persistence technology by Absolute will be made available on Getac's European suite of rugged mobile devices, including its notebooks and tablets. By activating Persistence, Getac customers will receive an enhanced endpoint security and data risk management offering, enabling a reliable two-way connection with all endpoints, regardless of user or location. Getac will be able to distribute Absolute's Persistence technology on a European basis.

"Getac’s purpose-built rugged devices are designed to get business critical data in the hands of knowledge workers in the field, no matter where their job takes them," said James Pattinson, vice president, EMEA, Absolute. "We are pleased that Getac has expanded its focus to protect not only the physical device, but to also help secure the sensitive data they contain.”
