Webbing fall arrestor

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

For over 60 years, Tractel have been world leaders in lifting & handling, height safety and access equipment.

Among their new products is the blocfor 1.8A ESD Webbing Fall Arrester, based on the latest self-retracting lanyard technology. The strap, made of aramide 15mm wide and 1.45m long, enables a useful deployed length of 1.80m.

The new B1.8A brings with it several significant improvements, including the Energy Saving Dissipater technology, which has greatly improved safety by allowing the device to arrest a fall even when the webbing is fully unwound.

The B1.8A ESD enables horizontal use with more aggressive sharp edges where the radius can go down to 0.5 mm, complying with the EN360 standard and the specifications of VG11 CNB/P/11.060. It can be used horizontally without the use of a lanyard between the end of the strap and harness as well as vertically or with a standard deviation of 20o in relation to vertical.

The responsive, flexible unwinding system doesn’t jerk during operator movement and locks automatically in less than 100mm in the event of a fall, reducing the total fall height. The ABS housings & polyamide webbing is resistant to wear, impact, abrasion and ageing.
