Winter gritting warning

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

De-Ice Gritting & Snow Clearance will be warning visitors to the Facilities Show not to take a gamble on the winter.

Vicky Lopez, director from the gritting and risk management specialist, says: "I imagine some organisations may take a gamble based on the weather from the last few years, and perhaps opt out of a winter gritting service on their sites. But being unprepared has the potential to set you on a slippery slope to open ended risk and potential litigation, in the event of slips and trips occurring. No one should risk the safety of site visitors and staff. It is never too early to get the ball rolling and to start planning winter resilience programmes."

Taking a gambling theme at this year's Facilities Show, De-ice will be asking visitors what their stance is when it comes to the safety of their workforce and site visitors.

The company will again be hosting the De-ice bar and networking café, where show visitors can take a well-deserved break, or arrange those all-important meetings. They will also have the chance to take on the 'Snowball Challenge', and win ££50 in M&S vouchers.
