Video tracking system
Winter risk management specialist De-ice has launched a video tracking system, creating another layer to the already extensive audit trail it provides.
The system, which will initially be available to Platinum customers, is the latest innovation from the company as part of its winter resilience offering.
MD Mark Lopez said: “We want to provide our clients with the most comprehensive audit trail possible, to show that a site was successfully serviced. However, I’d argue that nothing is as fail proof as video evidence.
“We already follow our operatives (gritters) via PDA tracking devices, and can note when service delivery took place, but we wanted to go that extra mile. Equally, where a PDA signal may fall into a black spot with poor reception – this can be backed up by video footage. It’s a ‘belt and braces’ approach, with the aim of supporting our customers as well as we can.”
De-ice will trial the video tracking system during Winter 2016-17, and if successful, it will be rolled out to all of its clients.
