24-hour fire safety

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Ramtech Electronics has been awarded a contract to supply its state-of-the-art health and safety compliant Wireless Emergency System (WES) for a new residential scheme currently under construction at Chelsea Creek in London.

Ramtech was awarded the contract by the Ardmore Group, the company appointed by developers St George to construct the 142 high-specification residential units.

The WES will protect the site and construction workers by providing 24-hour fire safety. The system provides a base station wirelessly linking up to some 42 individual battery powered units, which require no power cables and take minimum installation.

Using the latest radio technology, should an alarm be triggered a 122 decibel siren will sound and a strobe light will flash. The unit that has been triggered can be easily identified from the base station, making resetting quick and simple.
