Following on from Mac
Tools’ AR38RP 3/8″ air
impact ratchet comes a new
1/4″ version weighing in at
0.6kg, and delivering 50ftlbs
of torque with a 500 rpm
free-speed.

When undoing parts in
restricted space using a
standard air ratchet, the
mechanic runs the risk of
receiving a shock to the
wrist due to the sudden
increase in torque when the
fastener loosens or tightens
down. This sudden increase
in torque can also cause the
knuckles to be thrown into
the nearest solid object and
is responsible for a number
of workshop injuries. Like
its larger sibling, the 1/4″
AR14RP mini-impact
ratchet aims to reduce these
injuries.

This model shares the
same reaction-free impact
assembly as the AR38RP
which incorporates a single
dog clutch ahead of the
ratchet assembly. This
design prevents the shock
being transmitted to the
hand.
