Board appointment
Reactec, the expert in monitoring and management solutions for hand and arm vibration (HAV), has appointed health and safety expert Janice McCann to their Board as a non-executive director.
Janice, a senior Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) professional, is a Chartered Fellow of IOSH and has over 25 years’ senior management experience. This includes the construction, FMCG, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and logistics sectors working with Mansell, Balfour Kilpatrick (both part of the Balfour Beatty Group) and Devro plc. Janice was most recently Head of Health & Safety at Forth Ports Group, covering eight commercial ports across the UK.
Edinburgh-based Reactec is a leader in the invention and provision of monitoring devices and a management information reporting platform for Hand Arm Vibration (HAV) risks – the cause of one of the most common industrial diseases in the UK, White Finger Syndrome or HAVS.
Roger Adcock, chairman at Reactec, said: “We are thrilled to have Janice join our Board. She brings with her a strong track record as an influential leader in the continual improvement in Health & Safety standards in large businesses. Janice’s experience will be invaluable as Reactec continues the development of monitoring devices and management software to prevent this incurable, but preventable, HAVs condition.”
