Cast iron grip
The future of Great Yarmouth’s Vauxhall Bridge looks bright thanks to the installation of DeckSafe Solution’s GRP safety flooring for the pedestrian access areas of the bridge.
Since its closure to vehicle traffic in 1953, the cast iron bridge had slowly fallen into disrepair but restoration site work began in November 2012.
DeckSafe’s GRP panels are manufactured to meet BS EN124 specifications – providing superior grip in wet, oily and icy conditions. The high strength properties and lightweight construction of the 50mm cored GRP panels, which were used throughout the restoration, provide an impressive load strength of 16.7 tonnes per square metre.
