Cleaning station
Bridgewood UK utilises a range of vacuum forming, polyurethane reinforcement and composite moulding processes in conjunction with a range of materials to manufacture components and assemblies for different applications and markets.
The company had been trying to find a safe and simple method to remove unwanted material from both product and employee clothing in order to stop the cross-contamination of different plastics and colours.
It had tried various types of compressed air guns, nozzles and restrictors and but had been unable to find a solution that was safe yet powerful enough to remove the plastic swarf from clothing.
Following an internet search by the company’s health & safety officer, Air Control Industries' (ACI) JetBlack Cleaning Station was discovered.
Bridgewood's technical manager Iain Douglas said: “Within a week of initially contacting ACI by telephone, I was visited by their business development manager. I was given a quick demonstration of how the unit worked and was also left with a trial unit to play with for an agreed period of one week."
Following a successful trial, which reinforced Bridgewood's commitment to safe working, the company placed a purchase order for eleven JetBlack Cleaning Stations.
Iain concluded: “All of the JetBlacks ordered have now been successfully installed and we are now educating and training all employees on the dangers of compressed air, and how to use the safe alternative that is the JetBlack.”
