SERV Trayvou Interverrouillage (STI) has launched a new security product that combines key management with real-time traceability.
Using RFID technology to guarantee a high level of reliability, the Smart Key Manager can accept up to 16 key modules, controlling a total of 256 keys. The transfer of keys giving access to pieces of machinery at the start and end of a shift between personnel happens much faster than under a manual system, which increases productivity.
The Smart Key Manager also keeps maintenance procedures to a minimum while guaranteeing the safety of maintenance staff. When a maintenance key is removed from or returned to the cabinet, the production manager in the affected sector receives a warning message. They can then stop or restart production without endangering maintenance staff or causing unnecessary downtime.
The product’s webserver interface allows the system to be checked and managed in real-time via a web browser from a PC, tablet or smartphone; no software needs to be installed.
