Everyday heroes competition

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Most people have someone they consider to be an ‘Everyday Hero,’ and now workwear manufacturer Ballyclare is is running a competition to give those heroes a chance to be recognised.

"We work closely with people and organisations in many different fields, such as fire and rescue, rail, police and general industry, so we’re well aware of the great jobs that people within those areas do on a regular daily basis,” Ballyclare’s digital marketing executive Sam Bennett said. “We wanted to recognise the fact that many of those people are a hero to someone who knows them, and to reward them for their efforts.”

The competition allows people to nominate their own special person who inspires them with their dedication, determination or other outstanding qualities. While that hero might be the sort of person who puts their own safety on the line to help others – such as firefighters, emergency service or military personnel, they could equally be a teacher, carer, sport coach or anyone else who goes that extra mile to help others.

Both the hero and the person who nominates them could win an amazing Red Letter Day experience, which could be anything from a flight in a biplane or a supercar driving session, through to a hot air balloon ride or a luxury spa day. There’s also a weekly prize of a £25 shopping voucher up for grabs.
