First aid demonstrations

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

At Health and Safety North the British Red Cross are offering free first aid demonstrations featuring how to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator), what to do if someone is unconscious and not breathing, and what to do if someone is choking.

Visitors to the stand can also get information on first aid courses and the latest update on first aid training legislation, which comes into effect on 1 October and how it affects their business.

British Red Cross’s Jude Holmes said: “The health and safety landscape is changing but this does not remove risk or accountability for workplace accidents. First aid skills can help to save lives and prevent minor accidents and illnesses becoming more serious.”
