Forest floor fits the bill
Polyflor’s Forest fx PUR collection of wood effect sheet vinyl floor coverings feature extensively in Hywel Dda Health Board’s new Mynydd Mawr Rehabilitation Unit for elderly patients at Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli.
Over 500m² of Polyflor products were used in the project including Forest fx PUR to bedroom and circulation areas, Polysafe Hydro to en-suite bathrooms and Polysafe Modena PUR and Vogue Ultra PUR to utility rooms.
Practical, resilient and hygienic, Polyflor’s Forest fx PUR was selected after using the King’s Fund Environmental Assessment Tool. Developed in collaboration with NHS Trusts, the assessment tool is funded by the Department of Health to support the implementation of the National Dementia Strategy.
Julian Wheeler-Jones at the Trust said: “The appearance of the floor has a significant effect on the feel of the environment and the usability of the area. With Forest fx we have a product that is durable, homely and highly suitable for our specialist facility.”
