Fork truck control

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

In the MHE environment, where the unauthorised use of fork trucks and other equipment can have serious implications for safety, how can managers ensure that appropriate health and safety procedures are implemented and observed?

Traka intelligent key management’s Traka iFob – with unique electronic ID – replaces conventional keys and standard PIN access systems, by fitting into a receptor built into the fork truck.

Restricting access to authorised users, each iFob is stored in a secure Traka Key Cabinet. Access to the cabinet and then to designated iFobs is restricted to authorised users and enabled by a swipe card or fingerprint recognition.

Traka ensures accountability for any damage caused to the truck, racking or infrastructure that can be immediatly accredited to an individual driver’s record. The system automatically records every transaction, enforces pre-operational checks and collects in-depth information on a central database.
