GlassGuard’s BlackBand lamp
coatings have undergone testing by a
leading UK test laboratory. The
results confirm the performance of
the fragment reten tion lamp coating
throughout its life.

A drop test after 50,000 burning
hours showed no degradation of the
fragment retention qualities of the
lamps. This is said to be an
important confirmation of the
effectiveness and longevity of the
BlackBand coating, which protects
products, profits and personnel by
retaining the glass fragments in case
of accidental lamp breakage.

The long life protection provided
by the BlackBand range of
fluorescent lamps is said to exceed
the minimum requirement for IEC
61549 (BS EN 61549) Fragment
Retention Lamp Standard.
