Hard hat offers improved visibility

Portwest, the manufacturer of personal protective clothing and equipment, is said to have become the first to bring a new head protection product to the European and American markets.

The Peak View Translucent Hard Hat is designed to be an improvement on the traditional hard shell protective helmet, allowing wearers maximum peripheral vision. It is suitable for companies who are seeking to improve their culture of health and safety.

The Peak View hard hat is manufactured from a new translucent high impact polycarbonate material which enables the wearer to see through the hard hat from any angle. This eliminates the need to head tilt or reverse head harnesses as visibility has been significantly improved. Peak View is also lightweight and is UV400 stabilised which offers protection against UVA and UVB radiation. This means that over 99 per cent of the sun's harmful radiation is kept away.

Portwest's Peak View hard hat offers wearers improved visibility in the workplace due to its translucent, comfort and practical design features. In addition it is available in a wide range of translucent colours. This allows employers or health and safety officers to introduce a colour coding system, which helps improve communication. The Peak View hard hat is fully certified to European Safety Standard EN 397 and American Safety Standard ANSI Z89.1
