(BLF) helps increase awarenes

Respiratory illness results in at least
25.3 million days of certified
incapacity each year. The associated
production loss of this incapacity is
£2.0 billion.

The British Lung Foundation
(BLF) helps increase awareness
around respiratory illness to reduce
absenteeism, increase productivity by
reducing smoking levels and educate
staff about lung health.

Aims and objectives of the BLF’s
workplace initiatives include:
Assisting employers in meeting
occupational health obligations
Educating people on COPD and
raising awareness of early warning
signs
Encouraging people to stop
smoking and signposting people
to healthcare services
The BLF teams can customise the
event to fit with an organisation’s
needs and can offer:
Lung function testing using the
latest spirometry equipment
Access to respiratory specialists
Posters and leaflets to help the
employer advertise the event in
advance
Smoking cessation advice
Goody bags of leaflets and
promotional materials (pens,
post-it notes etc)
