Mould and air quality assessment

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Mould is recognised as a health hazard to those susceptible or atopic. Where there are claims from building occupiers of mould related health effects or concerns for mould contamination consider calling in Action Dry Emergency Services.

It claims to be the only UK company to provide “the next generation for mould and air quality assessment” using the Mouldscope which is a portable "lab" for identifying and quantifying airbourne viable and non viable moulds.

Using technology originally developed for the military, it detects biological aerosols. Each particle is illuminated by laser, detecting, quantifying and identifying each mould type in real time by using advanced optical "fingerprinting" and a high level of accuracy. The library of moulds being assessed include some 80 (and growing) water damage indicator moulds – including the ERMI species – and common indoor moulds.

Mouldscope quantifies and identifies the existing mould level outside the home or building and compares the results to each area scanned within the property under investigation. It further compares results in real time to a national database of indoor aerosol conditions that is constantly being expanded and gaining statistical leverage never before available to those involved in mould damage investigations or decon.
