NHS maintenance contracts

PEL Services has been awarded the
fire detection and emergency lighting
maintenance contract for a number of
NHS Trusts in Hertfordshire. As part
of a joint venture, East & North
Hertfordshire and West Hertfordshire
Hospitals NHS Trusts combined to
outsource the maintenance of their
fire alarms, smoke damper control
equipment and emergency lighting. A
formal tender process was put into
place using OJEU protocol, which
rigorously vets each tenderer based on
the companies’ management of
finance, qualifications, quality control,
environment, sustainability and health
and safety. PEL scored the highest in
the evaluation process.

The company was subsequently
awarded the contract for planned and
reactive maintenance of these systems
across all five hospitals covered by the
Trusts. Following this, PEL Services
was recommended to Hertfordshire
Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
and won the tender for a three year
planned and reactive maintenance
contract for the fire alarms,
emergency lighting and extinguishers
