A six-week smoking cessation
programme, which combines a
patented nicotine blocking technology
with personal coaching, has been
launched as a follow on from the
Rosen Stop Smoking Programme
employed by corporations in the UK
and Ireland to help employees give up
smoking before the smoking ban. The
programme was delivered to groups of
up to 20 smokers at a time and had
average success rates of 60%.

There are two parts to the new
Quit Smoking Pal (QSP) programme.

The first part involves applying a
drop of NicoBloc blocking fluid to
the cigarette filter which restricts the
tar and nicotine reaching the smoker,
gradually weaning them off the
nicotine. The second aspect is access
to a personal coach with whom the
smoker sets weekly goals and using
special software and a ‘smokerlyzer’
the person can measure their lung
carbon monoxide levels and monitor
their progress.
