One million milestone

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Independent vehicle and contract hire company Burnt Tree has achieved its target of working one million man hours without any reportable accidents or incidents at either its Shrewsbury head office or any of its 18 branches in England, Scotland and Wales.

Burnt Tree is now planning to reach two million accident and incident free man-hours across all the company premises.

Chief executive Richard Metcalfe said: “Following the RIDDOR guidelines laid down by the HSE, we have been able to achieve this impressive target by raising the awareness of hazard identification internally and proactively managing accident and incident rates, companywide.”
