Perimeter protection
VdS, the European institute for burglary prevention, has now issued its first “Security Manual on Perimeter Protection (VdS 3143)”.

Its provides explanations on the multi-sector concept as well as special features of more than a dozen electronic surveillance systems including various structural and mechanical safeguards. The manual also contains exemplary concepts, and standards on system documentation, design, operation and maintenance.
“The core of the manual – which our experts developed in cooperation with insurance companies, the industry and the police – is a hazard and risk analysis compliant with ISO 31000”, VdS’ Sebastian Brose says. “In the field of perimeter protection, there is a wide range of risk scenarios and potential solutions.”
