Radio clarity

Motorola Solutions has enhanced the safety of Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) officers with improved fire-ground communications.

GMFRS has selected MOTOTRBO radios with IMPRES audio quality and noise cancelling audio accessories to enhance fire-ground communications and safety for 1200 firefighters across the North West of England.

Working with Motorola Solutions’ partner Radiocoms Systems, GMFRS has provided fire and rescue service officers with more than 500 radios, which are designed to improve voice quality and clarity even in the noisiest of emergency situations.

The product is said to help suppress ambient noise, amplify loudness and improve voice intelligibility, enabling firefighters to clearly hear instructions.

Mark Scoales, senior Radio/Voice Communications analyst, GMFRS, says: “The MOTOTRBO radios offer improved functionality, flexibility, coverage and mission critical clear communications, decisively for BA wearers and officers operating PPV fans and UHP lances. Our firefighters’ feedback has been exceptional. They now know that their messages will be heard clearly, the first time.”
