Safety accreditation for waste collector

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

A prestigious accreditation has been awarded to Hampshire trade waste collector Lili Waste for its high standards of health and safety.

Lili Waste, which recently opened a £1m depot in Eastleigh, has been given accreditation by Alcumus SafeContractor, which recognises extremely rigorous standards in health and safety management among contractors. It is used by thousands of organisations in the UK including SMEs and FTSE 100 companies.

The accreditation is another significant step in the success story of Lili Waste, which is expanding its operations into Hampshire after becoming a major trade waste collector in Yorkshire.

The company’s application for SafeContractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business.

SafeContractor accreditation will enhance the company’s ability to win new contracts, and its commitment to safety will be viewed positively by its insurers when the company liability policy is up for renewal.

Lili Waste owner Matt Miles said: “We’re delighted to have received this accreditation which is very much in line with our company values and ethos of caring about the people who work for us, as well as ensuring health and safety issues are paramount while we go about our work."
