A platform system from Oxford
Safety claims to solve many of the
problems associated with stairways.

It keeps the stairway clear to give
full access for people and materials
up and down the stair. It is then easy
to close a strong trellis platform
which safeguards operatives from
falling into the stairwell. The sturdy
platform also helps work such as
plastering, painting and electrical
work above the stair.

This SPS system can be easily fitted
to both straight stairs and stairs with
corners and it comprises a frame with
a lightweight working platform. The
aluminium telescopic frame adjusts to
fit a range of stairway dimensions,
stability is ensured by stabiliser bars at
each side, and an aluminium trellis
deck forms the safety platform. The
system has gained the ‘Quality in
Construction Innovation Award’ for
the Plant and Equipment category.
