Standing the test of time
Bespoke flooring at Billingsgate Market in Canary Wharf, the UK’s largest inland fish market, has reached its six year milestone thanks to specialist resin systems supplier Resin Surfaces Limited (RSL).
RSL’s hygienic Resuthane TG69 system was supplied in forest green on the ground floor of the 13-acre market complex, which contains stands and shops, as well as individual cold rooms and an 800 tonne freezer store.
The food-safe, seamless floor is said to combine impressive wearing and anti-slip properties in both wet and dry conditions.
Martin Macleod, superintendent at Billingsgate, said: “We needed a rapid solution that was not only fit for purpose but wouldn’t impact on the day to day operations at the market and could stand the test of time. Six years later, I can confidently say RSL met the brief brilliantly.”
