Two-hand controller

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

According to the Health & Safety Commission, during the year 2014/2015 there was around 70,000 reported workplace injuries in the manufacturing sector, of which 8,400 were as a result of contact with machinery.

Thorite says that injuries as a result of a hand in the wrong place at the wrong time wouldn’t be possible if the IMI Norgren Two-Hand Control Unit was installed, as both hands are needed to simultaneously press two buttons within 0.5 seconds in order to activate the machine.

The Two-Hand Controller, launched by Thorite, takes the place of whatever was previously used to activate the machine – lever, foot-pedal, button etc., and is easy to install. It complies fully with the latest European Machinery Directive requirements of ISO 13489 and EN574 class IIIB and is tamper-proof due to the robust nature of its construction.

For a limited period, Thorite is offering the Two-Hand Controller at the launch price of £450.
